Nydia Barone, 5/6 grades
Nydia (pronounced Neediya) has a
Masters degree in Education with an
emphasis in reading and written
language and a Bachelors degree in
Religious Studies. She has a
California Multiple Subject K-6
Teaching Credential with an
endorsement in literacy. She holds a
Waldorf Certificate and has
completed 48 additional graduate
credits in areas of parent guidance,
classroom management, at risk
learners, writing, differentiation of
instruction and cooperative learning.
Nydia has extensive experience
teaching grades 3 - 6 in public and
Waldorf Schools from1978 to 2009.
In addition, she has taught Spanish and Culture in grades one through six. Nydia has developed curriculum for Spanish language and culture. She has trained student teachers in literacy, writing, math and classroom management. She has been involved in an Outdoor Education Program for grades 5-6 which included geography, climate, animals and flora of the area. She has created a language arts curriculum for sixth graders, used a variety of teaching materials including the Junior Great Books and Readers’ Theater. She has been trained in Six Trait Writing and has enjoyed using that system in her classroom for years.
