Communication
Regular communication is essential for a successful program.
Below we discuss both the ways parents can expect to receive regular communication from the program, and the various ways parents can communicate with the program administrators and Reach Parent Foundation
The REACH Program will communicate with parents in the following ways:
- The newsletter from the Sebastopol District and Brook Haven is sent home with students monthly.
- The primary method of communication within REACH is through the bi-weekly newsletter that comes to families by e-mail on Mondays, with email/calendar updates every other week. Be sure to read these messages as you will receive information about schedules, changes, events, requests for volunteers and other information. If you do not have email access, you will need to request hard copies from the Program Director. The newsletter editor is Diana Badger and she welcomes articles and pictures from parents, students, and teachers about program activities and events. Send your information to Diana by Friday evening for Monday publishing at dianabadger@mcn.org.
- REACH holds regular parent meetings, usually on the third Thursday of each month. These meeting alternate between informational, educational and open forums for discussion and social occasions. Firm dates/agendas will be sent out via newsletter.
- Permission slips and other forms will be sent home with students on Mondays. Parents will need to check with students on Mondays to see if there are notices.
Channels for Parental Communication with the Program:
- If you have a question about the program, (enrichment, scheduling or curriculum design) please contact the Program Director, Karen Mirabelli.
- If you have a question, problem, or a concern about an academic matter regarding your student, please go to the classroom teacher first.
- If you have concerns regarding your student’s interactions with other students or teachers, encourage your student to go talk to the School Counselor, J.T. O’Neill (or you may contact her yourself).
- If you have concerns regarding the Parent Foundation’s goals for curriculum, enrichment and/or social/emotional matters, please approach the REACH Parent Foundation Parent Liaison, Onie Kriegler, or President of the REACH Parent Foundation, Cheryl Constantini.
