Claudia Dalessio, 6th grade
Ms. Dalessio was born in Orlando, Florida and grew up on Long Island, New York. She moved to Santa Barbara and then attended St. Mary's College of California where she earned her B.A. with a major in English and a minor in Anthro/Sociology. After graduation Claudia pursued an M.A. with an Education major as well as her Mulitple Subject Teaching Credential.
Ms. Dalessio taught 5th grade for five years in Southern California. Then she and her husband and two daughters trekked off to Raleigh, N.C. to be closer to her eastern roots. She became the K-5 Academically Gifted Specialist at a magnet school and taught there while receiving her Academically Gifted certification nights and weekends. She then tried out being a single-subject teacher in 8th grade Language Arts.
They found they were missing their family so moved back to Santa Barbara where she became the Director of Admissions at a Montessori School. And from there to Sebastopol.
Ms. Dalessio states that she "holds her students and herself to high standards and welcomes the challenge of meeting the needs of all learners. I am a life-long learner and hope to instill a love of learning in those I facilitate through the educational process. And I eagerly await our journey together."
