Kimberly Jaton, Humanities and Pre-Algebra
Ms. Jaton is known for her cosmopolitan knowledge, appreciation for world cultures, and positive energy. A world traveler with a strong appreciation for people of all cultures, Kymm is most enthusiastic when talking about teaching: her love of the environment, appreciation for parents, and the joy she feels teaching her students.
"Kids are always challenging me to grow, become a better teacher, find new answers." She worked for the Harmony District for over 10 years and says, "I appreciate a school culture in which I can be myself and have the freedom to be creative. I'm love working at Brook Haven in the REACH program."
She attended college at Long Beach State where she received a degree in journalism and earned her teaching credential from Sonoma State University. Since then she has taught writing, literature, photography, history, journalism, environmental
studies, P.E. and pre-algebra. She has also been a GATE coordinator and believes that students should be taught as though they are all gifted. Her love of travel has led her to thirty-two countries. Over the last two summers she traveled to Ireland to take fiddle lessons.
