Kimberly Jaton, 7/8 Humanities
Ms. Jaton is known for her cosmopolitan knowledge, appreciation for
world cultures, and positive energy. A world
traveler with a strong appreciation for people of all cultures, Kymm
is most enthusiastic when talking about teaching: her love of the
environment, appreciation for parents, and the joy she feels teaching
her students.
"Kids are always challenging me to grow, become a better teacher, find new answers." She worked for the Harmony District for over 10 years and says, "I appreciate a school culture in which I can be myself and have the freedom to be creative. I'm really looking forward to working at Brookhaven in the REACH program.
She attended college at Long Beach State where she received a degree in journalism. Since then she has taught writing, literature, photography, history, journalism, environmental studies, P.E. and pre-algebra. She has also been a GATE coordinator and believes that students should be taught as though they are all gifted. Her love of travel has led her to thirty-two countries. This summer she travelled to Ireland to take fiddle lessons.
