Volunteering
It’s not just a good idea-- it’s essential to the REACH community.
Volunteering is another important contribution that each family can make to the program. Every REACH family is needed for approximately 5 hours a month. Some of the volunteer opportunities include:
- Teaching enrichment classes
- Noon lunch duty
- Assisting with math
- Community Service coordination
- Driving on field trips
- Special Event coordination
- Assisting with yard duty on rainy days
- Parent Meeting topics
- Clerical support
- Facility improvements
- Supporting enrichment teachers
- Newsletter Support
- Website support
- Room parents
- Staff the library
You will find more opportunities for specific tasks listed in the newsletter or on the website. Often there are sign-up sheets at parent meetings and other REACH get-togethers.
Field trip driving needs are often posted on classroom doors for parents to sign up. NOTE: If you plan to drive on field trips, there is an extended process of vehicle inspection that is required, so get started early. Contact the Brook Haven office or the Program Director for the forms required.
Each classroom will need room parents and a coordinator for volunteers for that class.
